Glass Tax Service is a partnership with Mike Glass and Susie Glass being general partners. Their individual and mutual expertise are utilized to ensure quality service.
Mike Glass background and experience have provided useful knowledge and experience in most aspects of financial life. After graduating from college with an accounting degree he worked a short time as an accountant before being accepted for employment with the IRS where he worked as a Revenue Agent and Special Agent. In addition to the varied experience of auditing people and businesses from all walks of life, Mike taught both new Revenue Agents and Special Agents tax law.
Mike is an Enrolled Agent in good standing with the IRS. Enrolled Agents, CPA's and Attorneys are all recognized by the IRS as "Tax Practitioners” and can represent taxpayers in all matters before the IRS. Mike is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents. Mike has owned and managed, with Susie Glass, an insurance agency for the past 20 years, has a Series 6 and 63 securities licenses, and an insurance license for all lines of insurance. He also completed studies to receive designations of ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant) and CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter). Each license (insurance and securities) and each designation (EA, ChFC and CLU) require annual continuing education.
Susie Glass has received extensive individual training and mentoring from Mike Glass in preparing individual and small business tax returns. In her 10 years experience she began with a few tax returns and now has 100 customers. She has completed studies from Accreditation Council for Accounting and Taxation to obtain a designation of ATP (Accredited Tax Preparer). The ATP designation requires her to complete continuing education each year. The IRS has begun regulating tax return preparers requiring them to either have the designation of Attorney, CPA, EA, or RTRP. The latter designation is a Registered Tax Return Preparer. Susie will be studying to earn the RTRP designation.
With prior experience working for a Judge and for various attorneys, Susie was completing studies to become a paralegal. She changed course in 1991, obtained her Agent's insurance license and has worked with Mike at their insurance agency ever since.
